Ingredients
- 2 tbsp preferred cooking oil (vegetable oil, butter, lard)
- 1 onion
- 1 cup tomato juice
- 1 cup bone stock
- 2 tsp chopped parsley
- salt, and pepper to taste
- a touch of paprika (sweet or spicy)
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp chopped dill
- 1 tsp vinegar
- ยฝ tsp sugar
Directions
- In a saucepan, melt the preferred cooking oil, add 1 finely chopped onion, and let it sweat for 2-3 minutes on low heat.
- Add 2 crushed garlic cloves and let them sweat alongside the onion for 1 minute.
- Add 1 cup of tomato juice and the bay leaves and let the sauce cook for 5 minutes.
- Add 1 cup of bone stock and let it cook for another 5 minutes.
- Season with salt, pepper, and paprika to taste.
- Add half a tsp of sugar.
- Turn off the stove and add 1 tsp of vinegar and the preferred chopped herbs.
- Serve it alongside meatballs, fish, chicken, steak, etc.
