White Mushroom Sauce

Savor the Richness of Homemade White Mushroom Sauce—a Velvety Blend of Flour, Stock, Cheese, and Sour Cream. Perfect for Meats.

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp cooking fat (butter, oil or lard)
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 4 tbsp stock (any type of stock: fish, chicken, pork, beef,everything works)            
  • 2 tbsp canned mushrooms
  • 2 tbsp of grated cheese (mozzarella/ parmesan/cheddar)
  • 3 tbsp sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Herbs of your preference (dill, parsley, thyme, rosemary, oregano, etc.)

Directions

  1. Put the preferred cooking fat to heat, add 1 tbsp of flour, and mix with care without burning the flour.
  2. Add 4 tbsp of preferable stock blend well and let it boil for a couple of minutes. (3-4 minutes)
  3. Add finely chopped mushrooms and let it cook for 2 minutes on medium-low heat.
  4. Add the preferred grated cheese (mozzarella/parmesan, etc.), blend and let it melt.
  5. Add sour cream, salt, and pepper to taste and close off the stove.
  6. Season with preferred herbs.
  7. Serve it with steaks, fish, meatloaf, chicken etc.
