Simple Potato Salad


  • 500 g (17 oz) potatoes
  • 2-3 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1 tsp peppercorns
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • optional: a pinch of dill / parsley


  1. Wash the potatoes very well and boil them in their peel for 35 minutes.
  2. Alongside potatoes add 2-3 bay leaves, 1 tsp of ground pepper, 1 tsp of nutmeg, and 1 tsp of salt. 
  3. Peel the potatoes off and chop them, add one tablespoon of vegetable oil, and garnish with preferred herbs.
  4. Serve them with capers sauce or chopped pickles.
  5. It can also be paired with steak, fish, meatloaf, etc.
