Red Wine Cake


  • 250 g (8,8 oz) flour
  • 4 large eggs
  • 50 g (1,7 oz) dark chocolate
  • 180 g (6,4 oz) butter
  • 180 ml (6,4 oz) maple syrup (can be replaced with 200 g / 7 oz sugar)
  • 180 ml (6.4 oz) red wine (port)
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • pinch of salt


  1. In a large bowl, combine room-temperature butter, maple syrup, cinnamon, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt. Blend the ingredients thoroughly.
  2. Separately, beat the eggs and incorporate them into the butter composition.
  3. Add flour, chocolate chips, baking powder, and wine, and blend with care.
  4. Bake the batter in the preheated oven on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper at 180° C (356॰F) for 45-50 minutes.
  5. Once baked, allow the cake to cool.
  6. Serve the cake cold, dusted with powdered sugar.
  7. Customize your experience by adding whipped cream, chocolate, or fruit sauces, according to personal taste.
