Ingredients
- 200 g (7 oz) white rice
- 250 ml (8,8 oz) water
- 150 g (5,3 oz) sugar
- 850 ml (30 oz) milk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
- desired toppings (fruit jelly, chocolate sauce, dried fruits, cinnamon, etc.)
- Optional: 100 g (1 stick) butter
Directions
- Wash the rice in 2-3 water baths and let it soak for 1 hour to enhance the taste and texture of the rice.
- Bring 250 ml of water to a boil, add a pinch of salt, and add the pre-soaked rice.
- Let the rice boil until it absorbs all the water.
- Add the milk and let it boil on medium-low heat for 15 minutes while occasionally stirring to prevent stickiness.
- Add sugar and butter if you are using, and blend well so the sugar dissolves.
- Turn off the stove and add 2 tsp of vanilla extract.
- Add desired toppings.
- You can serve it immediately, or refrigerate it for a few hours to enhance its taste.
