Ingredients
- 10 apples
- 1 bottle of Rhein wine (a sweet white wine)
- 250 g (8,8 oz / 1 ยฝ cup) sugar
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- 4 sheets of gelatin (5 tsp agar agar)
- optional: 1 tsp cinnamon
Directions
- Wash the apples, remove their seeds and core, and peel them off.
- In a pot, put the wine to boil and add the sugar. (and the cinnamon, if used)
- When the sugar melted off and the wine started to boil, add the apples.
- Let the apples boil in the wine syrup for 20 minutes.ย (You can also roast them for 20 minutes at 180เฅฐ Celsius / 356เฅฐ Fahrenheit.)
- Remove the apples on a platter and mix the remaining syrup with 4 sheets of gelatine.
- Pour the liquid over the apples and let it cool off.
- Serve the apples cold, alone or with a dollop of whipped cream or ice cream.
