Baked Apples

Savor the Elegance of Wine-Infused Baked Apples, a Delightful Dessert With a Hint of Vanilla Sweetness. Simply Irresistible Indulgence.

Ingredients

  • 10 apples                                                                  
  • 1 bottle of Rhein wine (a sweet white wine)                            
  • 250 g (8,8 oz / 1 ยฝ cup) sugar                                         
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract                                                
  • 4 sheets of gelatin (5 tsp agar agar)
  • optional: 1 tsp cinnamon

Directions

  1. Wash the apples, remove their seeds and core, and peel them off. 
  2. In a pot, put the wine to boil and add the sugar. (and the cinnamon, if used)
  3. When the sugar melted off and the wine started to boil, add the apples. 
  4. Let the apples boil in the wine syrup for 20 minutes.ย (You can also roast them for 20 minutes at 180เฅฐ Celsius / 356เฅฐ Fahrenheit.)
  5. Remove the apples on a platter and mix the remaining syrup with 4 sheets of gelatine. 
  6. Pour the liquid over the apples and let it cool off. 
  7. Serve the apples cold, alone or with a dollop of whipped cream or ice cream.
